This page walks through exactly what happens when you list an app on Vibe Classifieds, from the first paste to the first message. It is a free, open board for live vibe coded apps, and it is in beta. Where we do not do something, we say so.
What do I need before I start?
- A live app on its own custom domain. No vercel.app, lovable.app, netlify.app, github.io or other hosting addresses, no subdomains, no code only repositories, no ideas and no templates.
- Access to change something on that domain: a page in the site head, a DNS record or a file in the site root. A coding agent can usually do the first or third for you.
- The real numbers: price you want, revenue, users and what you will include in the sale.
The reason for the domain rule is simple. A domain is a real asset, it moves cleanly from one owner to another, and it shows the project is running right now. The full list is on the listing rules page.
Step 1: How do I start a listing?
Go to the post page and paste the URL of your app. We read the public page and suggest the name, a one line pitch, a category, the stack and some details. We also take a screenshot of the site for the listing.
Step 2: What do I need to fill in myself?
Anything we cannot see from the outside, we leave blank. The site never guesses your price, revenue, users or what is included. You add those yourself. You also check the suggestions, fix anything that is off, and pick one of three listing types:
- For sale: you want cash and set an asking price.
- Swap: you want another project, with or without cash on top. See how swaps work.
- Free: you are giving the app away.
Choose one category too: SaaS, AI tool, Developer tool, Marketplace, Directory, Productivity, Game or Other. Revenue and user numbers are shown as self-reported.
Step 3: How do I create an account and post?
Sign in with an email link or with Google. It is free. Then post. At this point the listing is saved, but it is private. Nobody can see it yet.
Step 4: How do I prove I own the domain?
Your listing goes public only when you prove you control the domain. There are three ways, and you only need one:
| Method | What you do | Good when |
|---|---|---|
| Meta tag | Add the tag we give you to the head of your home page and deploy | You built the app with a coding agent, which can add it in a minute |
| DNS TXT record | Add a TXT record with the value we give you at your domain provider | You manage DNS yourself and prefer not to touch the site |
| Text file | Publish a file at /.well-known/vibeclassifieds.txt with the value we give you | You can add static files to the site root |
When the check passes, the listing goes public with the green Verified ownership badge. The badge means one thing: the owner proved control of the domain. It does not confirm revenue, users or the quality of the code.
How long does a listing stay up?
- An unverified listing is deleted after 14 days.
- A public listing runs for 45 days and renews with one click.
- We re-check domains from time to time, and a listing whose site stops loading is hidden.
- Three flags from different people hide a listing while it is reviewed.
Step 5: How do buyers contact me?
Signed-in buyers send you a message inside the site. It is private. Your email address is not shown, and there are no public comments. Reply when you are ready, ask the buyer what they want to know and share proof of your numbers if they ask. You decide who to talk to and whether to go ahead.
Step 6: How does the sale or swap actually happen?
That part happens between you and the buyer. The site never handles money. A sequence that protects both sides:
- Agree the price, what is included and the timeline in writing.
- Use an escrow service for the domain transfer, so funds are held by a neutral party.
- Transfer the domain and the code repository.
- The buyer verifies that the app runs and the data is complete.
- Release the funds and finish with a handover call.
What typically moves: the domain, the source code repository, the database and a data export, hosting and third party accounts, customers and billing relationships, design files and a handover call. Details are in the transfer guide. For pricing, see the valuation guide. Price depends on revenue, growth, age, traffic, churn and the effort to run the app, and we cannot promise a sale or a price.
How do I sell an app online if I am not sure about my price?
Draft the listing anyway. It stays private until you verify the domain, so you can take your time to decide, and you have 14 days before an unverified listing is removed. The guide to selling an app and our seller page cover preparation. If you are choosing between routes, read where to sell my app.
Questions about listing an app
How do I list an app for sale?
Paste your live app URL on the post page. We draft the listing from your public page, you add the price and facts and choose For sale, Swap or Free, then create a free account and post. The listing stays private until you prove you control the domain, then it goes public.
How do I verify that I own the domain?
Pick one of three ways. Add a meta tag to your site, which a coding agent can do for you, add a DNS TXT record at your domain provider, or publish a text file at /.well-known/vibeclassifieds.txt. When the check passes, the listing goes public with the green Verified ownership badge.
What happens if I do not verify?
The listing is saved but private, and nobody can see it. Unverified listings are deleted after 14 days. You can start again whenever you like, and nothing is charged because listing is free.
How long does a public listing last?
A public listing runs for 45 days. You can renew it with one click. We also re-check domains from time to time, and a listing whose site stops loading is hidden until it works again.
Does Vibe Classifieds handle payment?
No. The site never handles money. Buyer and seller agree terms themselves, and we recommend an escrow service for the domain transfer. A safe order is terms in writing, escrow, transfer of the domain and code, verification by the buyer, then release of funds.
Can buyers see my email address?
No. Signed-in buyers message you inside the site, privately. Your email is not shown and there are no public comments on listings. If three people from different accounts flag a listing, it is hidden while it is reviewed.
